Michael Cahill


Michael won medals in both football and hurling with Durlas Og. He won a County Under 14 A Football medal in 2003 and he won two County Under 16 A Hurling medals in 2004 and 2005 (as captain).  He was a member of the Durlas Og team that was defeated in the All Ireland Feile na nGael final in 2003.

On leaving Durlas Og Michael won 2 County Minor "A" Hurling medals (2006 and 2007), 2 County Minor "A" Football medals (2005 and 2006), 2 County Under 21 "A" Hurling medals (2008 and 2009) and 3 County Senior Hurling medals (2009, 2010 and 2012)  and 1 Munster Club Senior Hurling medal (2012) with Thurles Sarsfields. Michael played Fitzgibbon Cup Hurling with UCC in 2007, 2008 and 2009, winning a Fitzgibbon Cup medal in 2009.
Michael made his Senior inter-county debut as a substitute in the 2009 National Hurling League against Limerick and he made his Championship debut at left half back against Cork in May 2010. Michael won All-Ireland medals at Senior and Under 21 Hurling in 2010. He has also won 2 All-Ireland Minor Hurling medals (2006 and 2007), one Munster Minor (2007), two Munster Under 21 (2008 and 2010) and two Munster Senior (2011 and 2012) Hurling medals.

Michael was nominated for an All-Star award in 2010, 2011 and 2012, winning an All-Star award at left corner-back in 2011.
