The following Durlas Og notes were published in this weeks Tipperary Star:

Academy/ Under 8
Our lads travelled to Holycross last Saturday to play against Holycross/Ballycahill.  The lads enjoyed a great mornings hurling. Thanks to Holycross for the invite and the hospitality shown to us. We hope to  return the invite in the future.

Under 10
Training as usual on Wednesday evening. Reminder: We will be travelling to Cork on Saturday September 16th, to play in a tournament at the kind invitation of Cork Sarsfields. O’Loughlin Gaels ( Kilkenny), Ballygunner (Waterford) and Cork Sarsfields are also taking part.  We are fielding 3 teams so we are hoping for a full turnout. The tournament starts at 10.00am so our bus will be departing from Durlas Óg at 8.00am sharp. We expect to be back in Thurles for 3.00pm sharp. While our hosts will be providing some refreshments for the lads, it would probably be best if they brought a packed lunch. They will also require a change of clothes, depending on the weather conditions.

Mid final victory for Under 16's

posted Sep 8, 2017, 12:34 PM by John Smith

Our Under 16's had an excellent win over Moycarkey/Borris in the Mid hurling final which was played in Littleton on Saturday. Though we had the first score of the game, it was Moycarkey who settled faster and they opened up a 4 point lead by the fifteenth minute. However a Liam McCormack goal got us going and we finished the first half strongly to lead by 1 10 to 1 07 at the interval. We continued our good form after the break and goals from Darragh Stakelum and McCormack again put us in a very strong position. In fairness to Moycarkey  they battled back to reduce the margin to six, but our forwards kept the scoreboard ticking over, while our defence was very tenacious in their tackling and we eventually ran out winners by 3 18 to 2 14. After the game the cup was presented to winning captain Jack Lanigan.
