On Sunday morning last, we played a challenge match against Cork Sarsfields.  All games played were of a very high standard with players from both sides showing the full array of skills and courage which may well see them line out for Tipp and Cork in years to come. Outstanding performances on the day from Mikey and John-Joe Ryan, Devon O Brien, Liam Gleeson and George Barry set the tone for Durlas Og. A special word of thanks to our incredible parents (mammies!) who produced a veritable feast for all our visitors. It really is reassuring to be able to rely on such great support and goodwill from the parents of our boys on occasions like this

Put the items in black bags and leave them at the clubhouse doors during training and match times. We are running this until June 1st. It is a great way to help our lads on the road to Féile. Under 8 and Academy
Training continues as usual on Saturday morning at 10.00.

Under 10
On Sunday May 21st at 11.30am we are hosting Cork Sarsfields.  All players are to assemble at 11.10 am.  If any parents can assist in the making and  distribution of sandwiches, cakes etc., after the game, it would be greatly appreciated.  They looked after us really well in the corresponding fixture in Glanmire two years ago  when our boys were under 8s. As they will be bringing big numbers we are hoping for a full attendance. Training will proceed as normal on Saturday 20th.

Under 12
Under 12 Team 1 football. We lost our county semi-final after extra time to a very good Nenagh side, on a score line of 2-07 to 2-04. Our boys played their hearts out and just came up short.  Congratulations to Nenagh. That completes our football for this year.

Hurling training times will be advised by team mentors.

It was a busy week for our U16 panel. First up was the Mid A Football final in Boherlahan where we were beaten by an impressive Moycarkey side. Lady luck certainly did not smile on us as we lost Paddy Creedon through injury in the first few , and then Henry Fogarty had to leave the field half way through the first half after a clash of heads. Despite these setbacks we were still in the game at half time when we trailed by 3. Moycarkey were more dominant in the second half and ran out deserving winners in the end. It was a disappointing way for these footballers to end their time with Durlas Og, as they had won the U12 and U14 competitions as well as winning the Feile Peil two years ago. There was little time for licking wounds as we took part in the James Stephens Hurling tournament in Kilkenny on Saturday. We lost to Kilmacud Crokes but defeated Moycarkey, in the group stages and so qualified for the Shield Final where we overcame Mount Sion from Waterford in the final. Training continues as advised by mentors.

We competed in three u 12 mid football finals last Saturday in Holycross.

Our team 3 were first up against Moyne and put up a great display against a strong Moyne team just losing out on a score line 4.05 to 3-0. The score line didn't do justice to the effort this young side put in and they kept going until the final whistle. Well done to all involved.

Team 2 were up next against a classy Upperchurch "A" team in the group 3 final.

The score line finished 5-09 to 2-04.

Our lads again put in a great effort but had to give way to a strong Upperchurch team. Well done to all.

Last up was the group 1 final against Moycarkey.

After going behind to an early Moycarkey onslaught of 1-3 to no score  the boys showed great determination in  getting back into the game after some wayward shooting. We finally ran out winners 2-06 to 1-07 to retain the title.

Well done to all. We hope to play the winner of the north division this coming weekend. Details to follow later.

Training continues as advised by management.

On Saturday morning last, we played a challenge match against Holycross. Both games played were very competitive, with great desire to win shown by both sides. For Durlas Óg; James Lloyd, Sean O’ Mahony, Kyle O’ Dowd, Tommy Ryan, Eoin Webb, Bobby O’ Dowd, James Mockler, Daragh O Dwyer, Bill Fogarty, Donagh Hickey and Odhran Fogarty were among the stand-out performers. Holycross had some outstanding hurlers on show and these players will no doubt compete against each other over the coming years.

Training continues on Saturday morning at 10.00am.

Football: Our three teams have qualified for the Mid under 12 football finals which are to be held in Boherlahan Saturday May 6th. Team 2 will face Moyne "B" in the group 3 decider.

Team 3 travelled to Drombane on Thursday night where they got the better of Upperchurch Drombane in the group 5 semi-final.

We would appeal to all our supporters to come along to Boherlahan to cheer on this great bunch of boys.

Durlas Óg under 14 played the County Féile semi-final on Friday night against Burgess, we ran out comfortable winners on the night.  We then went on Saturday to play Knockvilla in the final. Knockvilla started the stronger team, they got 1-1 in the first 10 min.  Then we started hurling, and got a goal before halftime, which drove us on.  We came on top of a very close encounter 1-4 to 1-2,  great credit to the lads who never give up, and  they stayed going to  the end. All roads now lead to the Féile  on June 16th,17th and 18th June.
