The under 10’s had an exciting week beginning with former Tipperary Goalkeeper Brendan Cummins on Wednesday evening last.  The boys were hanging on his every word and were completely engrosses in the training session. After the training session Brendan took time to answer questions from the lads.  We would like to thank Brendan sincerely for giving so generously of his time, it was much appreciated.

On Saturday we hosted Toomevara, and we saw two very good, competitive games with sportsmanship and skill to the fore throughout.  Well done to all.

On Sunday morning last, we played a challenge match against Cork Sarsfields.  All games played were of a very high standard with players from both sides showing the full array of skills and courage which may well see them line out for Tipp and Cork in years to come. Outstanding performances on the day from Mikey and John-Joe Ryan, Devon O Brien, Liam Gleeson and George Barry set the tone for Durlas Og. A special word of thanks to our incredible parents (mammies!) who produced a veritable feast for all our visitors. It really is reassuring to be able to rely on such great support and goodwill from the parents of our boys on occasions like this

Put the items in black bags and leave them at the clubhouse doors during training and match times. We are running this until June 1st. It is a great way to help our lads on the road to Féile. Thank you.

On Sunday May 21st at 11.30am we are hosting Cork Sarsfields.  All players are to assemble at 11.10 am.  If any parents can assist in the making and  distribution of sandwiches, cakes etc., after the game, it would be greatly appreciated.  They looked after us really well in the corresponding fixture in Glanmire two years ago  when our boys were under 8s. As they will be bringing big numbers we are hoping for a full attendance. Training will proceed as normal on Saturday 20th.

Under 12
Under 12 Team 1 football. We lost our county semi-final after extra time to a very good Nenagh side, on a score line of 2-07 to 2-04. Our boys played their hearts out and just came up short.  Congratulations to Nenagh. That completes our football for this year.

Hurling training times will be advised by team mentors.

Durlas Óg u 14 Féile Fundraiser
We are organising a clothing collection to help fundraise for the Under 14s Feile Team.  We would ask that anyone who has unwanted clothes, shoes, purses, duvet covers and pillow covers, put the items in black bags and leave them at the clubhouse doors during training and match times. We are running this until June 1st so its time to do a big clearout!    Please support our clothing drive.

It was a busy week for our U16 panel. First up was the Mid A Football final in Boherlahan where we were beaten by an impressive Moycarkey side. Lady luck certainly did not smile on us as we lost Paddy Creedon through injury in the first few , and then Henry Fogarty had to leave the field half way through the first half after a clash of heads. Despite these setbacks we were still in the game at half time when we trailed by 3. Moycarkey were more dominant in the second half and ran out deserving winners in the end. It was a disappointing way for these footballers to end their time with Durlas Og, as they had won the U12 and U14 competitions as well as winning the Feile Peil two years ago. There was little time for licking wounds as we took part in the James Stephens Hurling tournament in Kilkenny on Saturday. We lost to Kilmacud Crokes but defeated Moycarkey, in the group stages and so qualified for the Shield Final where we overcame Mount Sion from Waterford in the final. Training continues as advised by mentors.
