Clubs who wish to avail of courses should now contact their Divisional GDA with completed application form with names, addresses, date of birth and fee of €20 per applicant for those attending multi club courses. A maximum of 25 will be accepted for each course. Clubs with sufficient applicants to fill a course are expected to pay €350 per course. Courses are organized for Cashel, Lattin Cullen, Golden, Rosegreen, Lorrha, Newport, Burgess and Borrisokane.
Transition Year Courses are organized for Cashel C.S, Abbey C.B.S., Our Lady’s Templemore, Thurles C.B.S and Colaiste Pobal Roscrea.
The West Tipp U13 School of Excellence is currently running in the Cannon Hayes Centre in Tipperary Town.70 players are taken through a battery of skill development on Sunday afternoons from 2 to 4 pm over seen by Kevin Halley and a group of coaches. Club coaches also attend and each coach get a handout of the specific skills and drills performed at each session. This project is proving to be very popular as can be seen by the numbers attending.
The County Hurling Development Squad programme continues on Mondays 7 to 9pm and Thursdays 6.30 to 9.30pm in the Dome at Semple, coaches are welcome to come and observe the work being done. We thank parents and clubs for their cooperation with transport.
Coaching and Games will be organizing a “Focus Football” project in the North and Mid divisions over the next few weeks. This project is aimed at U14 players who would consider football as their first option. The long term aim is to provide divisional teams at U14, 15 and 16
Club Annual General Meetings
At AGMs clubs are asked to appoint a Coaching Officer and a School Liaison Officer who will look after these activities in 2010.
Two important seminars are organized for 30th January and 6th February in the Dome at Semple Stadium.
On the 30th January John Evans, County Senior Football Coach will conduct a talk and practical demonstrations on football coaching. He will focus on all aspects of the game and deliver a blue print of “best practice” in coaching teams, players and coaches.
On the 6th February Cian o Neill, Tipperary Senior Hurling Trainer will conduct a session on the areas Fundamental Movement, Functional Competence and Physical Literacy and its importance in the development of young players.
Coaches of all ages are urged to attend these sessions where we are sure you will get very beneficial tips
Both sessions will register at 10am and conclude at 1pm. A registration Fee of 50 euro will apply to both sessions and clubs may bring as many coaches as they wish. Contact your GDA for pre registration
Primary School/Club Indoor and Astroturf Blitzes
Blitzes are being organized for Primary Schools and Clubs, by the GDA’s over the coming weeks in Holycross, Durlas Og Astroturf and Our Ladys Templemore Indoor also in Cloughjordan, Nenagh and Borrisokane.
Post Primary Schools Coaching
The Support Group Programme is running well as is the Munster Football project in Clonmel, Tipperary Town and Cahir.
