The following notes were published in this weeks Tipperary Star:

Medal Presentation
We held our annual medal presentation in LIT Thurles, on Friday night last, November 28th.  John Smith was MC on the night. Chairman Ger Sammon and Secretary PJ Bowden addressed the assembled players, their families and our special guests.  We were very lucky to have Pa Burke, Tipperary Senior Hurler, and Conor Sweeney, Tipperary Senior Footballer as our special guests on the night.  We were honoured to welcome Sally Young and Joe O’ Sullivan from the County Board to our gathering.

Pa Burke presented the medals to the Under 16s,  for their mid-final win.  They were very unlucky to miss out on the County title, losing in the final by just one point.

Conor Sweeney presented our  Under 12 footballers with their county final  medals. This was the first time in 21 years that Durlas Og achieved this important accolade, showing that we are able to compete at the top level in both disciplines.

John Smith interview Pa Burke and Conor Sweeney, both of whom provided words of encouragement and inspiration for the up and coming players of the future.

Ger Sammon extended his thanks to Sheila Mc Carthy and all at LIT.  He also complimented John O’Loughlin on his work photographing the events and games at the club.

Ger  Sammon encouraged everyone to subscribe to the County Board Draw, this is a very important income source for the club, as 50% of the  subscription comes back to the club, and for a 10 euro a month, there are some wonderful prizes.

Ger also congratulated the Sarsfields on their county final win, and Pádraig Maher, a former Durlas Og player who was awarded and All Star this year.  Ger also extended his congratulations to  Thurles Gaels on winning their first county Juvenile Title.
