Durlas Og - Tipperary Star Notes

The following notes were published in this weeks Tipperary Star:
Under 8 and Academy:
Next Saturday our Under 6s will have challenge matches against Holycross in Pairc na nOg. Boys are asked to be in the field at the normal time of 10 o'clock and we will be finished by 11.30.
Training as usual for Under 8s

Under 10.
Training on Saturday as usual and possible football match against JK Brackens on Wednesday evening. Details by text.

Under 12
Next weekend sees the shield semi finals and finals. Our first and second teams have both reached their respective semi finals .The first team play in Littleton and the Second team play in Templetuohy. Both games throw in at 10.00 o clock.Training on Wednesday at 6.30.

Under 14's defeated in County Hurling Final
Our Under 14 'B' team were defeated by a physically stronger Ballyneale team in the County Under 14 'C' hurling final at Dundrum on Saturday. Durlas Og lads gave it their very best and all the players can be proud of their displays, Ballyneale, the stronger team on the day, emerged winners and we congratulate them. We wish a speedy recover to Colin Lee who was injured during the game.

Mid Under 16 'B' Hurling Final
Durlas Og 'B' were defeated by Upperchurch/Drombane in the Mid Under 16 'B' hurling final at Littleton on Sunday.
Hard look to our players and mentors. They performed very well all season and it was a great achievement for our second team to have contested both the Mid Under 16 'B' football and hurling finals. Though they were unsuccessful in both finals they will have learned from the experience.

Durlas Og wins Mid Under 16 'A' Hurling Title
Congratulations to our Under 16's who defeated Holycross/Ballycahill by 0-11 to 1-6 in a thrilling Mid 'A' hurling final at The Ragg on Saturday.
It was a close fought match from the outset, and against tough opposition we just inched ahead in the final minutes to secure the victory.
Well done to our players who showed great character to record this victory. They will play Nenagh Eire Og in the county semi final on the weekend of 1st/2nd October.

Tipperary GAA Draw winners
Congratulations to Delia Cornally and Mick & Rosemary Carroll on winning €200 each in the September Tipperary GAA Draw.

Scor na bpaisti
An open meeting will be held in the club house in Durlas Og on Monday 26th September at 8pm, for all parents/guardians who are interested in their children in taking part in Scor na bpaisti (primary school children). Information will be given regarding the various competitions which can be entered: Quiz team, Instrumental Music, Novelty act, Set Dancing, Recitation and Singing.
