We travelled to Holycross on Saturday last, at their kind invitation to  take part in the “Bob Stakelum Memorial Tournament”. We played  Ballyduff, Newcastle West and  Holycross, and our wins against Ballyduff   and Newcastle West saw us progress to the next round wher e we played JK Brackens in the semi- final.  With very evenly matched teams, this game was a close one, with JK Brackens winning by a point. Our second team enjoyed games against  St. Pauls, Mungret  and Holycross, our lads performed well on the day, and were unfortunate not to progress past the initial rounds.    We would like to thank Holycross for inviting us to participate in this prestigious tournament. It was extremely well organised, no mean feat, given the number of teams involved. We would also like to thank them for their hospitality on the day.

A quiet week on the GAA fields allows us to reflect on the great year we have just had.Since we started training last January, from our first challenge game v Moyle Rovers under lights to our victory over Roscrea last Saturday we have had about a hundred get togethers. This shows the effort and commitment this group of players put in. Our efforts were well and truly rewarded with Co A success in both football and hurling, a feat last achieved in 1991. On top of that we won the Co Feile Peil and had the honour of representing Tipperary in the All Ireland Peil, a weekend we wont forget. Throughout the year we have gained all types of victories, some where we gave fast exciting displays and on other occasions where we had to work extremely hard to grind out results. Throughout all of this our players have conducted themselves excellently both on and off the field and have been a credit to the club. their families and to themselves.
