Durlas Og - Tipperary Star Notes

posted Nov 15, 2015, 12:14 PM by John Smith
The following Durlas Og notes were published in this weeks Tipperary Star:

The late Jack Griffin

All in Durlas Og were saddened when they heard the news of the tragic death of Jack Griffin last Saturday.  The late Jack commenced his hurling career in Durlas Og and played for the club in all grades at juvenile level.  He went on to play for Thurles Sarsfields winning County Minor and Under 21 medals.  The late Jack was a great supporter of Durlas Og and in the last number of years he returned to Pairc na nOg on many occasions to conduct training sessions which were always well received by our young players. We extend our deepest sympathy to his wife, Trisha, his daughters, Laragh, Isabelle and Emma Mai, the Griffin and Molony familes, his colleagues in the Defence Forces and his beloved Thurles Sarsfields club on their very sad loss.  Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam dilis.

Thank You
All of our groups have now finished training until the spring time. Our under 6s and 8s were last to finish up, last Saturday week..  Thanks to all the coaches  for their hard work and dedication during the year.

A special thanks to Pádraig Maher and  and John Maher for bringing the Dan Breen Cup to the club and making the final days training a special occasion for our youngest players.

Medal Presentation
Our annual medal presentation will take place in LIT Thurles on December 4th. This is an important event, as it is an opportunity to acknowledge the achievements of our young players.  We encourage all members, and their parents/families to attend this important occasion.
