Saturday May 7th May 2016 was an historic day for our u 12 boys who were victorious in three Mid football finals at Templemore in very wet conditions.

Team 3 were first up against JK Brackens in the Group 4 final and after conceding an early goal showed great determination against a skillful home side to power their way to victory.

Team 1 were next up against Holycross whom Durlas Og had comprehensively beaten in the first round robin game. However this was a really determined Holycross team who showed a different attitude on the day and really put it up to Durlas og. Holycross took the lead early on and really put it up to the Thurles boys who had to dig deep to grind out a win by one point.

Team 2
This was our last game v Moyne Templetuohy. Moyne got off to a flying start and raced into a 6 point lead, but Durlas Óg found their rhythm and gradually got back in contention and showing great determination ran out four point winners to make it three mid title victories on the day. This ensured that the three teams progressed to the county semi-finals.

Congratulations to all the players and mentors.

County Semi-finals:

On Friday 13 th Team 2 & 3 lined out in their respective semis against South Tipp champions. First up was team 2 against Ballylooby. This was a very exciting game with great skills on display from both teams. There was little between the teams and it wasn't until the last minute that "ice cool" Eoin Carew slotted over a free to give us a slender but well deserved victory and passage to the final where our opponents will be West Tipp champions, Emly.

There were sterling displays throughout with Conor Wall solid as a rock in defense along with Dan Carroll and backed up by an excellent David Purcell in goal. Sean Gleeson was superb with Fiachra O Gorman in attack. All the players gave it everything but a special mention has to go to Daniel Rossiter who gave a "man of the match" performance. Well done to all.

Next up was Team three against Carrick Davins.  We started very well and with more accuracy in front of goal in the first half it would have put a different complexion on the game. However Davins finished strongly to run out deserved winners. This was a big step up for this Durlas Óg team who will gain great experience from their efforts. All the players did their best, and there were good displays throughout, especially from Sean Leahy and Nathan Twomey in defense, to name a few, but Alex Moloney deserves a  special mention for his efforts and if there were an award for "man of the match", certainly Alex would be in contention!

Team 1 will face south champions Kilsheelan-Kilcash on Wednesday, 18th of May, in the “A” county football  semi final  Cashel.

We wish the team and mentors the best of luck.

Support for the team would be greatly appreciated.

Our U16 Gaelic Football team were beaten in the Mid Final played in Holycross last Monday. The first twenty minutes were very even with the score standing at four points each but three unanswered points by Moycarkey in the last ten minutes left the half time score of 7 points to 4 for Moycarkey. We needed a good start to the second half but it was Moycarkey who struck an early goal to leave us chasing the game. From there on we were unable to make up the deficit and Moycarkey ran out worthy winners on a final score of 2 12 to 0 9

Go raibh maith agaibh!
