The following Durlas Og notes were published in this weeks Tipperary Star:

Under 8.
We finished our season with an away trip to Cashel on Saturday last. We received a great welcome from all involved with the Cashel under 8’s. Our boys performed admirably and recorded some impressive wins. Thanks to all the parents of the boys involved for the sacrifices they have made throughout the year, the future is bright.

Under 10.
Training as usual on Saturday morning at 10.00. Football training has finished for this season.

Under 11.
Last Friday night saw the start of the 2016 under 11 Hurling All-Stars tournament in Dúrlas Óg. In total 30 boys are taking part, this is made up of 10 and 11 year old boys. The tournament is taking on a 5-a-side format with 6 teams involved and is being played in the tight confines of the astro-turf pitch in Dúrlas Óg. With specific rules designed to promote interplay and teamwork, the boys will be put through their paces over a series of 5-6 weeks.

On the opening night Team E, lead by Eoin Carew, were the big winners overcoming Team B on a score line of 6-2. The other two games of the night ended in exciting and high scoring two-all draws. Both of these games went to a penalty shootout with Team A, led by Stephen Dwan, defeating Team C on a score of 3-2. Team F, lead by Dan Carroll, defeated Team D in a dramatic sudden death shootout 3-2.

We hope parents enjoyed the showcase of hurling that these All-Stars of the future produced with some outstanding individual and team displays on show. We would encourage parents to come and support these boys in the weeks to come and get behind their team. Games will take place each Friday night with every team involved. Boys are asked to be togged and ready to start at 6:45pm this Friday night.

Under 15.
Durlas Og qualified for the final of the U 15 Shield, after the round robin section was completed after a blitz in Dr, Morris Park. We beat Cahir and Gortnahoe and will play in the final v Drom on Sunday. Further details to follow.  All support appreciated.
