Durlas Og - Tipperary Star Notes

The following notes were published in this weeks Tipperary Star:

A.G.M Report.
The Annual General Meeting was held in the clubhouse last Friday night.  Mass was celebrated by our chaplain, Fr. Vincent Stapleton, prior to the meeting.  The AGM followed and was very well attended.

Our Chairman, Pat Stakelum opened the meeting, which was followed by a detailed report from Club Secretary, P.J.Bowden.  The Secretary recounted the achievements of each group in both hurling and football, and thanked those involved for their hard work during the year.

PJ Bowden thanked those who organised and supported the clubs fundraising efforts throughout the year. He also commended  those involved in the renovations to the clubhouse.

The Treasurer, Liam Mc Carthy, delivered the Treasurers Report before Pat Stakelum, Club Chairman addressed the meeting. The chairman commended the officers and the mentors for the work being done in the club.   He extended his thanks to those who helped out with catering during the year,  he also thanked the parents for the support they have given the club during the year. Pat Stakelum fininshed by saying he was looking forward to another great year for Dúrlas Óg.

The next item on the agenda was the election of officers.

Club Officers for 2017

President: Mick Carroll.

Vice Presidents: Michael Murphy, Dr. Larry O’Connor, Jimmy Coppinger and Gerry Spain.

Life Presidents: Br. Keane, Connie Higgins, Dick Callanan, Fr. O’Rourke, Jim O’Dwyer, and Michael  Kennedy.

Chairman: Pat Stakelum.

Vice Chairman:  Ger Sammon.

Secretary: P.J. Bowden.

Assistant Secretary: John O’Connell.

Treasurer: Liam Mc Carthy.

Registrar: Tom Meehan

PRO: John Hickey.

County Board Rep: Sean Costello

County Board Draw Co-Ordinator:  Ger Donnelly

Liaison Officer to Schools: Paddy Moore

Coaching Co-Ordinator:  Eoin Costello.

Progressive 25 Drive.

Our annual progressive 25 Drive will take place in Thurles Sarsfields Social Centre, on Wednesday January 11th, @ 8.30pm. There will be 1,000 euro in prizes on the night, and it always proves to be a good night out. All are welcome.
