The following Durlas Og notes were published in this weeks Tipperary Star:

Under 6.
On Saturday 9th September our Under 6 boys will be travelling to Holycross to play matches against the boys from the Holycross/Ballycahill club. Boys are asked to be in Pairc na nÓg at 9.40 for the bus to Holycross. We expect that the bus will return to Pairc na nÓg  at 11.45am approx.

Under 10.
There has been a change  to our schedule for September. WE are now taking part in a tournament in Cork on September 16th. We will be representing Tipperary! Also taking part are O’Loughlin Gaels ( Kilkenny), Ballygunner (Waterford) and Cork Sarsfieldsd. We are fielding 3 teams so we are hoping for a full turnout. All going well every boy will play every minute of the tournament. The tournament starts at 10.00am so our bus will be departing from Durlas Óg at 8.00am sharp. We want to schedule 20 mins of warm-up after arrival. We expect to be back in Thurles for 3.00pm sharp. While our hosts will be providing some refreshments for the lads, it would probably be best if they brought a packed lunch. They will also require a change of clothes, depending on the weather conditions.

If for any reason your son cannot attend, please contact Pat Murray  before Wednesday  September 6th.

The tournament in Holycross will proceed as planned on September 23rd.

The under 10 played Ballingarry in a challenge match in Durlas Óg last Wednesday evening, We would like to thank Ballingarry for coming in to play us. They provided us with a good competitive challenge, with plenty of skill evident. Well done lads.

Under 12 and Under 14.
Training as advised by mentors.

Under 16.
Our U16 team had an excellent win over Moycarkey in the Mid Final which was played in Littleton on Saturday. Though we had the first score of the game, it was Moycarkey who settled faster and they opened up a 4 point lead by the fifteenth minute. However a Liam McCormack goal got us going and we finished the first half strongly to lead by 1 10 to 1 07 at the interval. We continued our good form after the break and goals from Darragh Stakelum and McCormack again put us in a very strong position. In fairness to Moycarkey  they battled back to reduce the margin to six, but our forwards kept the scoreboard ticking over, while our defence was very tenacious in their tackling and we eventually ran out winners by 3 18 to 2 14. After the game the cup was presented to winning captain Jack Lanigan.

Congratulation to Thurles Sarsfields on winning the Mid- Final. Well done.
