We travelled to Kilmacud-Crokes last Sunday to take part in their annual tournament. There were teams from all over the country participating, our neighbours Upperchurch- Drombane played along with James Stepthens and Dicksboro from Kilkenny, Cappataggle (Galway), Sarsfields (Cork), Naomh Eanna and Buffer’s Alley (Wexford), Mount Sion (Waterford), Ballinteer St. John’s (Dublin).

We fielded two teams on the day and played Kilmacud Crokes, Naomh Eanna and Dicksboro. We enjoyed good, competitive games. The outright winners of the tournament were Cappataggle from Galway. We have to thank our hosts for a greatl day, the tournament was very well organised, and we would like to thank our hosts for the invitation and the hospitality.

Training will take place on Saturday morning as usual.

Under 12
Our U12 season came to an end at the weekend with the finals of the astro league on Friday and our trip to Croghan Hill on Saturday. Two exciting semi finals were followed by a dramatic final which was eventually settled by the golden goal rule, the decisive score coming from Fred Crowley. The next day we headed off on the long trip to Croghan Hill where our players took part in some fun teamwork activities before embarking on a challenging 5k assault course. Twenty nine young players and four adults successfully completed the course and a great day was enjoyed by all. Over the course of the year our players played over thirty matches in football and hurling and put in a great effort. Thanks also to our mentors for their time and dedication. We look forward to 2013 with optimism

Last Saturday we held the Phil O Meara tournament. This was played in an under 13 and 14 format .Teams competing included Sixmilebridge, Clarinbridge, Naas, Ballingarry and Durlas Og .At the end of the league series of games the two finals were played in Semple Stadium .First up in the u13 final Durlas Og played Sixmilebridge. The Clare team got off to a quick start and took a lead which was to last for much of the game however a great comeback by the home team forced the game into extra time. In added time Durlas Og got the winner to cap off a great days hurling by this team.

The u14 final saw Clarinbridge play Ballingarry. The Galway team, beaten finalists in this years feile final, proved too strong for the men from south tipp on the day. Tony O Meara rounded off the day with the medal presentation.

Our thanks to all the parents for their help on the day with catering .Also many thanks to Philly Butler and Pat O Callaghan.
