The following Durlas Og notes were published in this weeks Tipperary Star:

Under 8 and Academy.

Parents of under 6 boys are asked to attend a brief 15 minute meeting at 10.45am next Saturday morning June 15th, in Paric na nÓg. The purpose of the meeting is to give parents an understanding of the basics of hurling; e.g. grip, swing, etc. and as result help parents to encourage the boys properly in the skills of the game.

Next Saturday, June 15th, our Under 8 boys will be playing in a hurling blitz in Littleton. Boys should be in Durlas Og at the normal time of 10’ Clock as the bus will leave at 10.15 sharp. The boys are asked to bring a hurley, helmet, Durlas Og top if possible and 3 euro for the bus. There will be 3X10 a side matches of 20 minutes and we expect the bus to return to Pairc na nÓg at 12.30

Under 10.

We had a blitz last Friday evening, despite the short notice we were able to field two teams, both of whom played very competitive matches. We are looking forward to the coming weekend, Kilmacud Crokes are travelling to participate in a blitz, as are Moycarkey. The Blitz will take place on Sunday. We will have training as usual on Saturday morning, and will provide further information re: start time at that trainin. We ask that everyone attend, and everyone will get a game on Sunday. We are looking for parents to provide sandwiches and help out with on Sunday, please contact John Hickey at 086 8277977.

Football training as usual on Wednesday evening at 7.00pm.

Under 12.

Both our A and B teams were in action in Pairc na nOg on Saturday as we hosted Nenagh in two very worthwhile challenge matches. The games were played in brilliant sunshine and were enjoyable affairs. Next Saturday we host JK Brackens in the first round of the U12 Hurling Competition. Training continues on Thursday evening.

Under 14

Last week both our teams played in their county semi finals.First up on Monday night the second team played Kilsheelan in Clonoulty .After a poor first half our players turned in an excellent second half performance but lost out to the south team who went on to win the county final on Saturday.

The following night the first team played Clonmel Comercials in Cashel .  After a fast start by Clonmel our lads got back into the game and with a little more luck in front of goal we could have been closer at the finish.Again Clonmel went on to win the final on Saturday.

Its back to Hurling now with training as advised by mentors.
