Durlas Og 'B' were defeated by Upperchurch/Drombane in the Mid Under 16 'B' hurling final at Littleton on Sunday.  Upperchurch had the advantage of the wind in the first half and they led by 1-6 to 1-1 at the interval. Adam Garrett was our goalscorer. Two Upperchurch goals in the opening five minutes of the second half gave them a thirteen points advantage and it looked as if there was no way back for us.  Our players showed great spirit as they battled their was back into the game. First Tom Tierney pointed a free and then Rory Purcell who lined out at corner forward in the second half scored two goals in as many minutes to leave six points between the teams. We fought very hard to get further scores but despite our best efforts we couldn't breakdown the Upperchurch defence and they added three further points to leave the final score Durlas Og 3-2 Upperchurch/Drombane 3-11.
Hard look to our players and mentors.  They performed very well all season and it was a great achievement for our second team to have contested both the Mid Under 16 'B' football and hurling finals.  Though they were unsuccessful in both finals they will have learned from the experience.
